Great SEO links going around the Seattle tech community

Ok, I didn’t originate this list. I’m just sharing it. This list fell out of a great post by Rand Fishkin over at SEOmoz titled “I’m Getting Pretty Tired of Startup Advice that Doesn’t Include Any Mention of SEO“. I posted some comments as I thought the right conclusion is more about perspective around ALL the things that make a start-up work (and not just SEO). But the conversation got lively and Justin M. Laing of MerchantOS subsequently shared some of the SEO feeds he follows regularly. It’s a good list and I hope he doesn’t mind me posting the list here:

    Great post!

What is hot is Video SEO right now with “Universal Search”. I built a small “viral studio” that is dubbed the Media Mix Stream Studio and have figured out a few techniques to just dominate video SEO. What better way to get your message and brand out there than video?

Most startups really do not understand SEO, viral marketing and especially how to their blogs to gain much needed exposure. Twitter? Most do not get it yet. How else do you build a brand and customer base with as little money as possible?

I am really blown away when I hear about a “hot all star team” startup who has raised $7mm. I look at their blog and then watch them get beat up on John Cook’s blog comments. The entrepreneurs do not even know how to do blog/community damage control?

It is all about leveraging you blogs, videos and building your own community with hard work. Leverage the new tools, listen to Wine Library TV’s Gary Vaynerchuk interview here to glean more info.
